My story.

Oh, Deer...

Oh, Deer...

Mine is one of those “I got sick and tired of feeling sick and tired” stories. So I took action! Lots of work with food, hydration, and even breath work (before breath work was even a thing!).

Thankfully, I got sick a lot less, but feeling tired grew into EXHAUSTION.

This may surprise you, but I didn’t ever think to work on sleep because I knew I didn’t have a sleep problem. My sleep was like clockwork, and I woke up feeling like--Oh, Deer!--a million bucks!

But every day, I ended up feeling like a million bucks had trampled over me!

I didn’t know why. And worse than that, I didn’t think to question it. I was so used to it, it was so “normal” for me, I just accepted it.

Until 2015.

That’s when I discovered I had a hidden sleep performance problem that caused a powering-up malfunction during sleep.

I had never heard of this problem before, and my guess is you haven’t either!

You can check out my book to know exactly what sleep performance problems are—and I recommend you do because they are the #1 cause of the exhaustion epidemic we have today (and so many of the chronic health and wellness problems we have today!).

For now, though, let me give you the skinny right here: Having a powering-up malfunction meant that even though I was getting 8 hours of sleep at night, my brain did not get what it needed during those 8 hours. Said another way, I was getting the right number of hours sleep, but I wasn’t getting the value!

And that meant my brain did not have what it needed during the 16 hours I was awake.

You can think of it like a cell phone. If you plug in a cell phone but the charger is broken, there’s no way that phone will get powered up.

And it was the same for my brain. It wasn’t getting fully powered up at night, and so I existed like a cell phone in low power mode during the day. The capacity was there, but I just couldn’t access it consistently.

Of course I didn’t know any of this at the time. All I knew was this:

 I.

Was.

Exhausted.

So when I learned I had a powering-up malfunction, it hit me like a ton of bricks (which I think feels worse than being trampled by those million bucks!). How could I possibly muster the energy to take on yet another problem? The thought itself was exhausting.

But after I had a little time to think about it, a light bulb went off in my head: having a powering-up malfunction just might be the greatest gift ever!

You’re probably asking HOW COULD A HIDDEN SLEEP PERFORMANCE PROBLEM BE A GIFT??

Well, learning I had a powering-up malfunction meant that I did not have a multitude of problems to deal with. I had ONE.

Having a powering-up malfunction meant it wasn’t the stress and strain of modern life that left me exhausted. No, it was the other way around. I was exhausted, and so I just didn’t have what I needed to manage all that came at me. And THAT led to feeling overwhelmed and overloaded.

Once I understood that chain of events, it meant I could focus my very limited energy on solving ONE problem. The underlying problem. The root cause. And as I made gains on that ONE problem, I would have fewer other problems to deal with.

That was a gift!

And more than it, it allowed me to let go of the idea that feeling exhausted was just a *normal* part of life. It allowed me to believe that I could say goodbye to exhaustion, and hello to VITALITY! It allowed me to believe that I could bring 100% of myself to life!

Are you ready to bring 100% of you to life??
